Things I Won't Kill

[That cyclops cat.]

Ruru the Cat here.  So, I'm nice.  Toothless, quit laughing.  I'm super nice.  How can you tell?  Well, it's because I've decided to let Phoenix the one-eyed kitten live.  She's taken my spot in my person's room. But I'm living her live, anyway. Why? 'Cuz I love my person.  My person, lacking my wisdom, doesn't find her useless.  So I've decided to let her live.  Be impressed with my mercy and kindness.  Now, no guarantees on Wren.  He tries to take a nap, and she turns face hugger and shows she's strong enough to beat the tar out of him.  She doesn't seem to know she's maybe a third his size.  She just won't let up.  I kind of like that sassiness and determination. Shows a lot more energy than I have.  So, yeah, I'm letting her live.

[Me, tolerating the other tabby.]

I guess I might also let Wren live.  That doesn't mean I like him or even want to hang out with him.  But it's fun to watch him flip out every time someone pets him for more than three seconds, which makes everyone try harder.  It's fun to watch humans chase him down and "zip" his tail, meaning pet that tail in one fast motion like humans zip zippers.  Everybody keeps talking about how long and fluffy his tail is.  My tail is way better  I chase it around all the time as I cat tree.  Don't know what the fascination is.  But it's fun to watch.  And he doesn't mess with me because I glare at him whenever he thinks about it.  Yeah, I'll let him live, too.
[The wired, undersized hairball they call a "dog."]

I also have decided to let the little, annoying dog Bean live. I've been back and forth on that one. He does give me body heat when we happen to be chilling in the same place at the same time, waiting for attention. But he never holds still except to sleep.  I think one of these humans stuffed him with what humans call caffeine.  He's always darting around and eating all the food that sits around long enough for him to catch it, including cat food if he can get it.  He's still smaller than me and acts like a puppy. I could kick his tail anytime I wanted.  Both he and the kitten want the mom human's shoulder.  I'm surprised they haven't started fighting for it.  So, at least for now, I've decided to let him live because I'm nice like that.  I'd love to see a knock-down, drag-out battle between the tiny one-eyed kitten and the crazy puppy.  So, yeah, I've decided to let him live.  For now.

Just want everyone to notice how awesome I am. I'm letting my greatest annoyances live.  Be impressed, very impressed.

Pom Family Reunion

[I'm happy with other people, but my favorite is my mommy.]

Hi!  I'm Bean!  They also call me Beanie Boo.  Not sure why.  I'm a puppy!  I stole Ru's blog 'cuz she left it open.  Have you noticed she's kinda grumpy?  I still love her like everyone here.  I just wish she'd let me play with her and chew on her a little.  It'd be fun!

[I'll do anything to get to Mommy, even swim]

Anyway, so this amazingly awesome thing happened!  I thought it was so great that my people have started letting me swim in their pool, so I could rush to my mommy!  It's so hard to be away from her for even a minute.  I whine when she does crazy things like get in the tub or pool without me.  I mean, I don't like baths, but when I'm outside the tub, and she's inside, she's so FAR AWAY!

[Every kid wanted to play with us puppies.]

But something even more amazing happened!  My people took me on a campout with lots of people I kind of remembered.  I think they're friends or family or something.  Several of them smelled familiar.  I was just happy to be with my person, even though my father and mother Poms stayed home.  It was great to have my mommy just to me.

[Me and my sisters.]

But better still, some of those people brought my sisters!  I got to play with my twin, Angel, and my baby sister, Cinnamon!  I haven't seen them in forever!  I love to play with them!  They're so much fun!

[Where I belong.]

I didn't like it when my sisters tried to steal my food or when one of the little humans kept throwing stuff in my dish.  I also didn't like it when all the little humans kept grabbing me away from my mommy.  They kept dragging me farther and farther away from my mommy, which made me grumpy.  Doesn't everyone know I'm supposed to be on my mommy's shoulder?  That's the only place for a dog.

[One of the loud yetis that barked all night long.]

I also didn't like the big, scary dogs Ru calls yetis some people brought.  I was afraid when we went to a big lake thingie that my mommy would throw me in the water and make me swim back.  I just don't like being away from her.  Oh, and the fire was kind of scary, but the meat they cooked over it was yummy.  And everything else about the trip was so great!  I loved it!  Oh, here's Ru.

[Man, I hate it when they steal my blog.]

Man, dog, can't I even steal your dog food in peace without you stealing my blog?  Seriously.  Oh, so that's what you were up to when the humans ditched me with those stupid kittens again.  Meat sounds good.  But puppies?  Water?  Fire?  Small humans?  Yetis?  Blech.  I'd much rather stay here in peace where I can beat on anything that bugs me.  I'm not grumpy.  I just know what I like.  And getting chewed on and all that crap you thought was so wonderful?  Yeah, that's not it.  I just don't know why humans keep leaving home when I'm here.  After all, if you have a cat, what else matters?

ABANDONED!!!!

[Me, looking everywhere for my human.  Notice the tragic color of my world.]

Ruru the Cat here.  My person is gone forever!  I know she is!  She totally ditched me.  I looked everywhere, and she's just not here.  A few days ago seemed like any other day.  My person's brother went off somewhere.  I heard the nasty word "school," but I watched my person to make sure she wouldn't go as well.  No movement.  I sighed with relief.  I hate that nasty place, even though I don't know exactly what it is.  It tends to steal my person away a lot.  I don't know why they'd call it "summer school."  Duh.  Of course, it's summer.  It feels and smells warm.  But it doesn't seem to impact my person.

[How life should be--getting my face properly rearranged by my person.]

But later that day, she started packing stuff up.  That's usually a bad sign.  Whenever that happens, my person will often ditch me.  I made sure to interfere as much as possible to make sure she wouldn't leave.  I made cute faces and purred and everything.  But then, she ditched me, anyway.  We're all of us here, their four-footed friends.  And they left their friend here to feed us and pet us.  But she's not the same.  I want my person!  They've been gone for DAYS and DAYS.  It's my worst nightmare.  I'd take that nasty school business over this because at least she comes home to rearrange my ears and squish around my face at the end of the day.  I just don't know what to do.  I guess I'll take a nap.
